La Villetta, as it is lovingly known (little house in Italian), is a charming jewel in the heart of Victorian Spa Country paradise. An abandoned wreck when D+D took on the project, the approach was more like that of a Fitzroy warehouse than a Victorian weatherboard. Removing walls and creating an open-plan living/dining space, a Japanese-inspired bathroom, and even a secret little toilet with the original pedestal sink in the master bedroom. La Villetta is a quirky mix of repurposed and recycled materials, topped off with vintage furniture and plenty of art. Cosy maximalism to the max.
